This exhibition introduces visitors to the people who inspired and supported the artist, using letters, costumes and objects from CIMS collections alongside significant loans. It also features new sculptures by Sasha Constable and highlights lesser-known artists connected to Constable and his circle. Please check opening times before visiting.

Bringing key loans to Suffolk for the first time to explore the theme of walking. Historic loans including The Hay Wain and Dedham Vale (1828, National Galleries of Scotland) will be seen alongside CIMS’s own Constable collection.

The final exhibition of the year-long celebration, juxtaposing Constable’s ongoing artistic and cultural relevance with contemporary responses to his art, much of it created during the year.
